Czechoslovakian Wolfdog: a hardworking dog

The Czechoslovakian Wolfdog - also called the Czechoslovakian Vlak - is a recent breed of domesticated wolfdogs. It was created in the middle of the 20th century, more precisely around 1955, and was born of a cross-breed between German Shepherds and Carpathian wolves. The Czechoslovakian Wolfdog is one ot the two wolfdog breeds recognized by the American Kennel Club in the Sheepdog section. They were officially recognized in 1999.

Physically, the Czechoslovakian Wolfdog is quite sturdy. In general, they are 26 inches high and weigh around 54 pounds. They stand out with their coat which resembles that of a wolf - straight, close and thick hair which changes colors depending on the season.

Czechoslovakian Wolfdogs are dogs with strong temperaments. They have a certain pride and independence. A lively dog with a lot of energy, they are hardworking like no other dog. The Czechoslovakian Wolfdog is an aggressive breed. However, they are far from being a fighting dog. They are one of the breeds who don''t like picking a fight with other dogs not because they''re scared but because they don''t like confrontation. But if it''s inevitable, the Czechoslovakian Wolfdog is very agile, proving to be an excellent fighting dog. Just like wolfdogs, they have a fleeing instinct in dangerous and unknown situations. They are suspicious of strangers. However, they are sensitive and very affectionate to their master.
